Ghislaine Maxwell Trial: Opening Statements Begin Monday

Opening statements in the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, who is accused of helping convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein recruit and abuse underage girls, begin Monday. Prosecutors say Maxwell was the ringleader in procuring girls as young as 14 for Epstein but Maxwell has repeatedly denied the allegations against her. Ghislaine Maxwell trial: How the Jeffrey Epstein investigation unfolded

He was one of the world’s most notorious paedophiles.

Jeffrey Epstein is dead, but in a few days his one-time lover and friend, Ghislaine Maxwell, is due to go on trial in New York.

She’s accused of grooming and trafficking young women for Epstein to abuse, and denies all the charges against her.

But the case would most likely never have come to court at all – were it not for the work of Julie Brown, a journalist in Florida whose groundbreaking investigation led to Epstein’s arrest in 2019.
