WHO’s Dr Tedros: “Ending this pandemic is not a matter of chance, it’s a matter of choice”

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organisation said that coronavirus "will not just disappear" but it was up to us to end it.

Of the Omicron variation he said "this is what the virus will do, if we allow it to continue to spread".

Dr Tedros said the world was now a "toxic mix of low vaccination and low testing" and that developed nations should fully fund equitable distribution of vaccines and treatments all over the world.

Tedros urges China to be more transparent in COVID-19 probe

The head of the World Health Organization said that investigations into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic in China were being hampered by the lack of raw data on the first days of spread there and urged it to be more transparent.
