China slams widening US-led diplomatic snub of Winter Olympics

China has slammed the widening diplomatic snub of the Beijing Winter Olympics, after Canada joined Britain, Australia and the US in the boycott. Beijing has warned that they will "pay the price". The Western nations all cited China’s human rights record as the reason behind the move. Athletes are still free to compete. France has confirmed it will not boycott the event. Meanwhile, Japan may not send Cabinet members while South Korea is not considering a boycott.
