Shooter arrested, signed in before opening fire at Jacobi Medical Center

The 25-year-old gunman who opened fire inside Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx was nabbed after he wrote his name in the sign-in book when he arrived.

Keber Martinez spotted his 35-year-old victim inside the waiting area outside the hospital’s emergency room Tuesday afternoon.

The two, who are believed to know each other, then got into a verbal dispute.

Martinez fired four shots, striking the victim once in the arm. The victim was rushed into the emergency room.

‘Life or death’: Bay Area synagogues take active shooter training in response to nationwide events

Bay Area synagogues are participating in active shooter and other security trainings in light of this weekend’s hostage situation at a Texas synagogue and similar situations in recent years across the country. One Rabbi says he wishes it didn’t come to this, but, "we have to use any means necessary to prevent any casualties" in the event of an active shooter.

Suspected Michigan high school shooter and parents make separate court appearances

Ethan Crumbley, a Michigan teenager charged with killing four people in a shooting at Oxford High School in November, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday, paving the way for a trial. Meanwhile, his parents, who are also charged, made a separate court appearance. CBS Detroit reporter April Morton joined CBSN with the latest.
