One Conservative MP did go, as Christian Wakeford crossed the floor to Labour, accusing the Tories of "trying to defend the indefensible and doing so gladly".

A defensive Number 10 press secretary insisted Boris Johnson would fight any confidence vote against him.

The Prime Minister is coming under pressure to resign over multiple parties held at Downing Street including the garden party he attended.

He maintains he believes he was attending a work event saying "no one told me we were breaking the rules."

Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross calls on PM to resign

Douglas Ross has called for Boris Johnson to stand down as Prime Minister after he admitted attending a Downing Street party during lockdown.
