It also aims to raise the professionalism of the industry, which has been plagued by reports of shoddy work. Singapore’s consumer watchdog added that it has already received more than 600 such complaints in the first half of this year.

Calls to raise UK marriage age from sixteen to eighteen

Sky News has been given access to call logs held by the Yorkshire-based charity Karma Nirvana as part of an investigation into child marriage.

Children in England and Wales can currently marry at the age of 16 with parental consent, but the charity says that children as young as seven are at risk.
