Officer Kim Potter resigned from the Brooklyn Center Police Department Tuesday after killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon. The Minneapolis suburb’s police chief also resigned as protests continued into the night for the third day since the shooting. Omar Villafranca reports.

The Minnesota police shooting of Daunte Wright reignited angry protests across many US cities Monday night — with a riot declared in Portland, Oregon, as a mob of hundreds attacked cops, according to officials.

At least 40 people were arrested during a second night of violence in Brooklyn Center, the city on the outskirts of Minneapolis where Wright was killed Sunday, and protesters gathered in other cities in a show of unity.

Despite a curfew order, around 40 people were arrested in the second night of protests against the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright.
