Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Schildhorn Launces new Website

Dr. Jeffrey Schildhorn NYC Orthopedic Surgeon

I get to put people back together and help them get their lives back. I just want to communicate that message, and maybe even help people who may never step foot in my office.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 20, 2020
Park Avenue based orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Schildhorn is celebrating the lunch of his new website jschildhorn.com. Dr. Schildhorn is excited to bring this new digital portal for patient education to his existing and future NYC patients. Dr. Schildhorn is a graduate of Duke and attended medical school at Temple University. With over 12 years of hands-on experience, Dr. Schildhorn has built his reputation through word of mouth and professional referrals. Dr. Schildhorn is a lauded trauma surgeon and also operates on many wrist and ankle fractures.
For over a decade he has also excelled at shoulder hip and knee replacements. At his NYC practice, he routinely performs a wide variety of arthroscopic procedures which include sports medicine based ligament reconstruction. His key focus is on appendicular procedures, and he has earned a reputation as a go-to surgeon for shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle issues. An avid, life long athlete himself, he has made it a point to get his patients not only fully recovered, but able to live their lives as they did before surgery. His goal has always been to restore function and return his patients to their pre-injury level of performance.
“I knew I wanted to communicate with my patients, and people looking to research their pain and injuries using new media and multimedia.” Said Dr. Schildhorn. He goes on to add “I wanted to allow patients to get to know the practice and what I do as an orthopedic surgeon even before coming to the office. To provide resources and understanding of injuries and the types of procedures that we do, and to know what to expect from the recovery process. I love my job, I get to put people back together and help them get their lives back. I just want to communicate that message, and maybe even help people who may never step foot in my office.”
Dr. Schildhorn’s message is simple, he understands that surgery is a big deal to most people. Today, medical and specifically surgical procedures are advancing at a breakneck pace. No matter how simple the procedure, Dr. Schildhorn understands that having any type of surgery is always somewhat inconvenient. Anyone can tolerate the short term pain associated with a surgical procedure. Deciding whether surgery is absolutely necessary depends on a patient’s goals and the amount of time and energy they are willing to invest in the process. Regardless of the simplicity of a given procedure. Dr. Schildhorn hopes that his new website can help ease some of the anxiety that may come with arthroscopic surgery.
Additionally, there are several options aside from surgery that can help relieve pain and aid in healing joints and skeletal tissue. The most popular among them being PRP and stem cell therapy. While Dr. Schildhorn offers these and other procedures at his Park Avenue practice, in some cases these modalities may simply serve as a stopgap, while the surgeon works with the patient to plan a comprehensive surgical and rehabilitative program.

Behr, M.D., OrthoAtlanta Medical Director.  “Dr. Waddell joins OrthoAtlanta after practicing at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York. Elite Orthopedic Surgeons Warn that Fractures from Falls are a Major Injury Risk at Holiday Season

Silicon Valley Orthopaedics provides patients with cutting edge technology and the most conservative treatment methods to provide the best possible outcome, says Dr. Nic Gay.

FREMONT, Calif. (PRWEB) December 04, 2019
Dr. Nic Gay and Dr. Kerisimasi Reynolds of their recently launched cutting edge practice, Silicon Valley Orthopaedics (SVO) http://www.siliconvalleyortho.com point out that serious falls are very common during the holiday season. A Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that about 250 injuries a day occur during November and December. In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that for three years running, there have been over 5,800 fall injuries per holiday season related to decorating.
The most frequently reported holiday decorating incidents seen in emergency rooms involve falls (34%), lacerations (11%) and back strains (10%). Half of those who fell from ladders were hospitalized. Holiday-related falls include falls from roofs and furniture, and from slipping or tripping. Approximately 50% of reported fractures were caused by falls from ladders. These statistics for holiday-related falls do not count falls from ladders related to home maintenance and repair, such as the seasonal chore of cleaning leaves from rain gutters or roofs, which means the numbers are even higher.
Luckily, even for the most serious falls, SVO does everything possible to ensure that a patient’s natural joint structures are repaired correctly and preserved. They know that the joint’s range of movement and functionality can be seriously impacted by illness or injury so they provide patients with a comprehensive treatment plan that delivers long-lasting, positive outcomes.
The SVO team is committed to providing the best surgical outcome and rehabilitation coordination (an imperative yet often neglected component to the recovery process). Individualized treatment may involve a combination of conservative and surgical methodologies. Dr. Nic Gay and Dr. Masi Reynolds provide surgical solutions that range from minimally invasive to total joint replacement. They have an extensive history in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries and joint diseases. Patients have access to affordable care from a team of orthopedic professionals and surgeons.
But avoiding injury in the first place is, of course, the best idea. Recommendations to avoid falls and the associated injuries include leaving gutter cleaning and holiday decorating to the pros. If you are going to decorate, make sure to use a ladder correctly. For example: Remember that aluminum conducts electricity. Use wood or fiberglass instead of a metal ladder for electrical work.
Don’t use ladders with loose or missing parts or ladders that sway, sag or lean to the side.Don’t start ladder work in windy or inclement weather. If bad weather arises — especially rain, thunder or lightning — get off of the ladder, take the ladder down, and wait for the bad weather to pass.
Silicon Valley Orthopaedics (SVO), located at 39180 Farwell Dr., Suite 110, in Fremont, CA, has been launched to help patients across the San Jose and Silicon Valley area reach their musculoskeletal health goals. This new, state-of-the-art practice will utilize innovative, evidence-based surgical and non-surgical techniques, focusing on the individual needs of their valued patients. The experienced team will provide an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plans to address joint pain so patients achieve optimum results. Mercy Medical Center Named America's 100 Best for Orthopedic Surgery, Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery

Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD

“Mercy has a strong reputation in the field of orthopedic, joint replacement and spinal surgery…The Healthgrades recognition is further evidence of Mercy’s leadership role in orthopedic medicine,” said Thomas R. Mullen, President and CEO, Mercy Health Services, Mercy Medical Center.

BALTIMORE (PRWEB) November 14, 2019
A recognized leader in the field of orthopedic medicine, Mercy Medical Center is one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery, Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery, according to a national study by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals.
The Healthgrades 2020 Report to the Nation cites Mercy as among the top 5 percent in the nation for overall orthopedic surgery (three consecutive years, 2020, 2019, 2018) spine surgery (2020, 2019, 2018) and joint replacement (2020).
Mercy received a “5-star” rating, indicating the 145-year-old hospital’s clinical outcomes in these orthopedic specialties are statistically better than expected when treating the condition or performing the procedure being evaluated. Further, regards quality of patient experience, Mercy rated 10% higher than the national average.
Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions using Medicare data. Mercy achieved “superior clinical outcomes” in knee and hip replacement; in back, neck surgery, hip fracture treatment, total knee, and spinal fusion procedures, among others.
“Mercy has a strong reputation in the field of orthopedic, joint replacement and spinal surgery, receiving many awards for excellence over the years. The Healthgrades recognition is further evidence of Mercy’s leadership role in orthopedic medicine,” said Thomas R. Mullen, President and CEO, Mercy Health Services, Mercy Medical Center.
Healthgrades achievements recognize hospitals that consistently deliver outstanding clinical outcomes in key service areas. Patients treated in hospitals that received one or more of these clinical distinctions have a significantly lower risk of dying or experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in a hospital that did not.
“The hospitals that stand out for exceptional performance in orthopedic surgery should be commended for their long-standing commitment to quality,” said Brad Bowman, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “As consumers are increasingly savvy when it comes to finding and selecting a hospital, patients can be confident when they select a hospital that has achieved this Healthgrades recognition.”
Mercy was recently ranked as one of the top midsize employers in the nation by Forbes magazine for the third consecutive year. Mercy Medical Center has been awarded an “A” from The Leapfrog Group’s spring and fall 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, ranking it among the safest hospitals in the U.S. Mercy was also recently recognized by Healthgrades for achievements in Women’s Health, earning the 5-Star designation for hysterectomy, gynecologic procedures, and vaginal delivery, as well as special recognition for superior performance in gynecologic surgery.
Founded in 1874 by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Medical Center is a university-affiliated medical facility named a “Top Hospital” by U.S. News and World Report and has a national reputation for women’s health care. Mercy is home to the renowned Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine, now celebrating its 25th anniversary.
