National Steps Challenge to become ongoing programme from April

The National Steps Challenge aims to get people to stay active throughout the year with its expanded programme. The current campaign consists of a six-month seasonal run. People can take part by logging their daily fitness activities. Starting April, participants can join the challenge at any time and earn points daily. The Health Promotion Board said this is to promote an active lifestyle even amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It noted a steep decline in physical activity during the circuit breaker period two years ago, but it increased after the launch of a bonus round in 2020.
