NASA launches spacecraft aimed to deflect asteroid

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) spacecraft launched from the US Space Force Base, carried aboard a SpaceX-owned Falcon 9 rocket. NASA is conducting its first planetary defense system test, aimed to change the orbt of asteroid "moonlet" Didymos–which is the size of a football stadium. It does not actually pose a threat to Earth.
