Japan’s famous Toyosu Market holds first tuna auction of 2022

The prices of tuna are down at Tokyo’s famous Toyosu Market. The first auction of the year has seen the highest bidder take the most popular bluefin tuna for US$145,000. But the top price has fallen for the third year running, with demand hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also far below the 2019 record of almost US$3 million.
