National Library Board’s Gladys Low on Curiocity, which features Singapore’s heritage in a new light

Local neighbourhoods are set to be seen in a new light as part of an initiative to help the public better understand Singapore’s heritage. Put together by the National Library Board, Curiocity will feature light installations, digital stories, and even treasure hunts where people can uncover secrets about Singapore’s history. Ms Gladys Low, head of Singapore and Southeast Asia at the NLB, shared more about the key themes that will be explored and what the public can expect.

Heritage patron Peter Lee on his family’s contribution of over 130 photos to the Peranakan Museum

63 individuals and organisations have received the Patron of Heritage Awards for contributing some $3.2 million worth to local causes in 2020. Thanks to funds from these patrons, special exhibitions promoting Asian narratives, as well as those supporting local design and art talents were able to run amid the pandemic. Some also donated artefacts and photographs to local heritage institutions. For example, Mr Peter Lee’s family contributed over 130 photographs to the Peranakan Museum’s collection.
