Malaysia’s Sarawak heads for biggest state election under PM Ismail Sabri on Dec 18

Malaysia’s largest state will go to the polls next month for the first time under new prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Sarawak will vote on Dec 18, less than a month after Mr Ismail Sabri’s Barisan Nasional stormed to a landslide election victory in Malacca. The incumbent GPS party — a key ally of BN in the federal government — is expected to win big. There are 82 seats up for grabs and about 1.2 million people are set to cast their votes.
