Chauvin Will Change Not Guilty Plea On Charges Of Violating George Floyd’s Civil Rights

According to a court notice, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin plans to change his not guilty plea on federal charges that he violated George Floyd’s civil rights. Chauvin was convicted of murdering Floyd in June and sentenced to 22 and a half years in prison.

Former Minneapolis Officers Will Be Tried Together On Federal Charges In George Floyd’s Death

Four former Minneapolis police officers will stand trial together on federal civil rights charges in the death of George Floyd. A U.S. magistrate judge has denied a request by three of the officers to be tried separately from Derek Chauvin, who was previously convicted in state court for Floyd’s murder.

Terrence explained that he believes Tou Thao should get the same sentence as Derek Chauvin, but he’s unsure about the other officers. Floyd also talked about the bittersweet nature of his family getting a hefty settlement over the death of his brother.
