Lufthansa, Air France to fight EU climate plans

Lufthansa and Air France have joined an alliance of European airlines and airports that aims to oppose the EU’s planned climate legislation, arguing it will leave them unable to compete against rivals from outside the bloc.

Ukraine ‘prepared to fight’, ambassador to UK says

Vadym Prystaiko, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, told Trevor Phillips on Sunday that he "does believe" Britain’s accusation that Vladimir Putin is plotting to install a pro-Moscow leader as head of the government in Ukraine.

He said: "I do believe that. It’s not the first time they’re trying to do so, historically, and in recent times."

Asked if Ukraine believes Mr Putin will invade, Mr Prystaiko pointed out there has been a Russian presence for almost eight years.

Mayor Adams: All city agencies will join fight against gun violence

After an onslaught of gun violence across all five boroughs Mayor Eric Adams is gearing up to get all city agencies involved in a new "blue print for safety."

Adams and other government officials met with representatives from several crisis management organizations and in the Bronx on Saturday to address the so far failed approach to curb gun violence.

After only three weeks in office Adams’s administration has seen dozens of shootings, most recently an 11-month old child struck by a stray bullet and an officer slain during a domestic violence call.
