Essilor Vision Foundation Encourages Everyone to Vote for Vision

Press Release – updated: Jan 13, 2020 09:00 CST

DALLAS, January 13, 2020 (Newswire.com) – 2020 is not just an election year, it’s also the year of vision. Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) believes all kids can be winners with clear vision and is kicking off this special year by launching its Vote for Vision campaign.
Vote for Vision encourages people to prioritize their children’s vision and to donate to the foundation so children in underserved communities around the country can receive critical vision care.
The year of vision
To most people, 2020 is just another year. But for the vision industry, 2020 is the year of vision — a year when everyone should make their eye health a priority and be advocates for the estimated 12 million kids in America with a vision impairment. It is estimated that half of those 12 million kids are not getting the care they need due to the barriers of awareness, access and affordability of vision services. You can help a child receive life-changing vision care by Voting for Vision in 2020.
Donate once, make twice the impact
You can Vote for Vision by making a donation to help someone in need receive an eye exam and glasses. This year, thanks to a generous matching grant, every donation made by an individual will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000. That means you can make twice the impact and help two children receive a vision exam and glasses for a life-changing donation of $50. During the Vote for Vision campaign, anyone who donates $25 or more will receive a Vote for Vision t-shirt.
Thanks to donors’ support, no child or their family ever receives a bill for vision care from Essilor Vision Foundation. And who knows? One of the children you support today might be the president of tomorrow. Help make a difference in a kid’s life by providing them the foundation for a great future.
Vote for Vision
Here is why everyone should Vote for Vision:
Vision impairment is an invisible problem because unlike hunger or tooth decay, children often do not know they cannot see clearly. To them, blurry eyesight is normal.
One in four schoolchildren has a vision impairment significant enough to impact their ability to learn, yet half of these children are facing barriers that prevent them from receiving the vision care they need.
Research finds 53% of children of families living in poverty in the U.S. have uncorrected vision problems that interfere with reading, writing, and classroom learning.
Vision impacts every aspect of a child’s life from learning, confidence and social interactions to participating in activities such as sports, art and music. The good news is 80 percent of all vision impairments can be treated or cured, often with a pair of eyeglasses.
EVF President Becky Palm supports Vote for Vision
“Vision is an issue everyone can support, but many people do not know that millions in this country face obstacles when it comes to getting vision care,” Palm explains. “With Vote for Vision, people in the United States can make a pledge to give kids in this country the head start they deserve. Your donation can make vision count twice!”
This year promises to be significant for EVF, as the foundation is on track to provide two million pairs of glasses. The Vote for Vision campaign will help EVF achieve this goal even faster. Essilor Vision Foundation is committed to helping every child have a better life through better sight, because everyone deserves to see clearly. Visit evfusa.org/VoteforVision to Vote for Vision.

New Book on Extraterrestrials Encourages Readers to Contemplate Future Interactions With Aliens

“Storm on the Horizon: The New Age, UFOs, and the Cosmic Christ” by Sylvia McKelvey

“With the substantial proof surrounding the existence of extraterrestrials, our next step is to consider the best way to engage with them,” McKelvey said. “To determine this, we must be cognizant of their possible intentions for reaching out to Earth.”

GILROY, Calif. (PRWEB) January 13, 2020
Extraterrestrial researcher and investigator Sylvia McKelvey recently published a detailed, informative book that explores extraterrestrial existence titled: “Storm on the Horizon: The New Age, UFOs, and the Cosmic Christ.” In her book, McKelvey delves into the history of extraterrestrial and UFO appearances on Earth. The extensive research and evidence, along with her personal experiences and UFO encounter, presented in this book bring credibility to the author’s claims.
“Storm on the Horizon” informs readers about extraterrestrials and encourages them to ponder how extraterrestrials could impact the future. Although the topic of extraterrestrials tends to be discounted, McKelvey wants to bring to light how important it is for readers to accept the validity of extraterrestrials in order to prepare them for the possibility of global interactions with these beings and what the outcome of such interactions might be.
“With the substantial proof surrounding the existence of extraterrestrials, our next step is to consider the best way to engage with them,” McKelvey said. “To determine this, we must be cognizant of their possible intentions for reaching out to Earth.”
As a Christian, McKelvey also discusses the controversy around extraterrestrials within her own religion and argues the idea of the Cosmic Christ, who serves all beings in the Universe. Additionally, she cautions that the ideology and groundwork being laid today by many New Age networks could make it possible for the prophesied Antichrist to appear on Earth as an alien and how he would be accepted. Therefore, thought should be given to the potential consequences of “making contact.”
“This book has everything you have been asking yourself for years about aliens, UFO’s, crop circles, orbs, the spirit world, and the titillating subject of the cosmic Christ,” said Sheila Halterman in an Amazon review. “It is an in-depth study of what may lie beyond our normal spectrum of everyday life and how what we think we know, may not be even close to the truth. The author also documents her own supernatural and personal UFO experiences. All additional facts are documented as well. It is a fascinating read, don’t miss it.”
“Storm on the Horizon: The New Age, UFOs, and the Cosmic Christ”By Sylvia McKelveyISBN: 978-1-4897-2420-5 (softcover); 978-1-4897-2421-2 (hardcover)Available at the LifeRich Publishing Online Bookstore, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
About the authorSylvia McKelvey is an extraterrestrial researcher and investigator. As a Christian investigator for over thirty years, her research on the New Age Movement was included with other researchers’ contributions in the 1983 documentary: The New Age, Pathway to Paradise?, which was produced by Christian television network WCFC. Also, she has investigated for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and served as the MUFON state section director for Santa Clara County, California. McKelvey is a former petty officer of the United States Naval Reserve Hospital Corps and served on active duty during Operation Desert Storm. The Evangelist’s Newly Released “The God Who Encourages” Sings and Shouts That God’s Powers of Deliverance Have Not, and Will Not Change, Because God Will Never Change

MEADVILLE, Pa. (PRWEB) January 06, 2020
“The God Who Encourages”: a reassuring and inspired conversation professing that even through the darkest of times, the Lord loves and wants each of His children to succeed. “The God Who Encourages” is the creation of published author, The Evangelist, a Vietnam veteran and dedicated student of the Bible.
The author feels called to service in regards to writing about God’s word. He says, “I have always pursued my goals and dreams with great passion and enthusiasm willing to go all the way until success was achieved. Now I had something greater than my goals and dreams, I had a mission from God to follow in the footsteps of Jesus to become “a fisher of men” for God, and I jumped at the chance with the same great passion and enthusiasm. I became a dedicated student of the Bible and other religious books and studies and trainings.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, The Evangelist’s new book speaks to readers regarding a world where troubles, disappointments, dangers, wars, and uncertainties are at an all-time high. Now, many people may wonder, what’s the use in believing on their fellow man or the hopes of dreaming of a better life on this earth or even if it’s worth the effort.
So many good people are ready to throw in the towel, maybe accepting the false assumption that there is no good in the society of mankind, especially when the daily news broadcast in television, radio, and newspapers does nothing but reinforce the fears of the public. Taxes on the rise, war skirmishes, mass killings by some hate group or a mentally deranged person, the list of hopelessness seems insurmountable. These stresses only add to people’s personal situations and problems. This hopeless mental state can and oftentimes lead some people to some destructive ends, even contemplating and following through with suicide.
Thanks be to God that all hope is not lost, that there is a bright light at the end of the dark tunnel, and that after the storms of life, the sun, and the blue skies return. So there is a lot of good news for those Christians who hold on trusting and believing in GOD and his precious promises. If they believe that the Old Testament was written for learning, they see that GOD delivered Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses, just to name a few. How they had many trials and tribulations, and they all overcame their troubles by their faith in the one true GOD and his precious promises.

Cumberland Academy of Georgia Encourages Students to Sharpen Their Social-Emotional Skills Over the Holidays

Sharpen Social-Emotional Skills Over the Holidays

“We want our students to be able to transition into the holidays as smoothly as possible. Discussing the pros and cons and what to expect makes this time of year that much more enjoyable,” said Debbi Scarborough, founder/headmaster.

ATLANTA (PRWEB) November 29, 2019
As Cumberland students enter the festive holiday season filled with family gatherings and honored customs, teachers aren’t focusing on the potential for academic backslide but rather opportunities for social-emotional growth. Teachers and counselors realize that students won’t be picking up their textbooks or logging into GoogleClassroom as often during the break but might be faced with challenges surrounding the busyness and stress that come with the holidays. “The travel, shopping, unfamiliar smells, noises and additional faces can be a lot for our kids, so we try to talk about what to expect and equip them with coping strategies,” said Britani Wilson, teacher and counselor at Cumberland.
Before leaving campus for the break Cumberland families are encouraged to do the following: Remember the things your thankful for –the holidays are an important time to realize all of the gifts we have been given and the people that support us. Keep expectations reasonable and take time for yourself. Give yourself permission to request & allow help from others. Try to build in as much routine as possible. Try to not over-schedule.
Adjusting to changes in routine or to new events and experiences is often a huge challenge for students on the spectrum and can be taxing at times. “We want our students to be able to transition into the holidays as smoothly as possible. Discussing the pros and cons and what to expect makes this time of year that much more enjoyable,” said Debbi Scarborough, founder/headmaster. Students will be out of school for Thanksgiving break starting on November 25th and will return on December 1st.
