The boss of a company involved in February’s deadly explosion in Tuas had operated a machine based on flawed assumptions, instead of proper measurements of pressure and temperature to ensure safety. That was what an inquiry into the incident heard, as Chua Xing Da, the director of Stars Engrg, took the stand for a second day.

As part of a probe into the origins of the Russia investigation, special counsel John Durham has charged Democratic lawyer Michael Sussmann with making a false statement to the FBI. According to Durham, Sussmann did not disclose that he was working for multiple clients, including the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.
