OCBC begins making “goodwill payouts” to phishing scam victims

OCBC has begun making "goodwill payouts" to customers who fell prey to the recent SMS phishing scams impersonating the bank. To date, more than 30 customers have received payouts. OCBC did not say how much it has paid. It will contact those affected after reviewing and validating their cases. It also acknowledged that its service and response fell short of its customers’ expectations.
