MUSKEGON, Mich., January 20, 2020 (Newswire.com) – Elizabeth B. Sherman has completed her new book “The Last Grand Tour”: a detailed and heartfelt tale that will quench the wanderlust of readers all over the world.
Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Elizabeth B. Sherman’s thrilling tale unearths the extensive collection of letters compiled in “The Last Grand Tour” to chronicle the adventures of a Michigan family’s trip to Italy in 1959–1960. Margaret and Gilbert Sherman, with their three children in tow, detailed their eight-month journey with engaging descriptions, wry observations, and riotous anecdotes in correspondence with family members back in the States.
The family sailed from New York City in late August 1959 onboard the ocean liner Vulcania and, after stops at the ports of Lisbon, Palermo, Naples, and Venice, disembarked in Trieste. From there they drove to Florence, where they leased a villa, La Colombaia. While the family enjoyed their time there, country life had its drawbacks, and they found themselves tied down with daily chores. With a desire to see more of Florence, they moved back into the city for several weeks before going on a long road trip to visit Siena, Verona, Perugia, and other cities in Tuscany.
In the letters and postcards, Peg and Gib describe the hassles of dealing with the Italian police and assorted bureaucrats, the etiquette of driving Italian style, the challenges of homeschooling the two older girls, and the appreciation of art masterpieces as seen through the eyes of a five-year-old boy. The Last Grand Tour will take the reader on a rollicking trip– no passport is needed.
Readers who wish to experience this exciting work can purchase “The Last Grand Tour” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. For additional information or media inquiries, contact Newman Springs Publishing at 732-243-8512.

SOMERVILLE, Ohio, January 3, 2020 (Newswire.com) – Joyce Ferrell a.k.a. Joyce writes, “Daisy’s Adventure is based on the true story of my eighteen-inch long yellow koi fish named Daisy. Her koi friends, Duke and Princess, live in a large pond with Daisy. A pretty waterfall keeps their water nice and fresh and they swim around enjoying their home—most of the time.
“On this scary, stormy day, a very heavy rain came over the waterfall and washed Daisy out of her pond. She had never been outside her pond before. Daisy was very afraid and didn’t know what to do.
“This story tells the true tale of how ‘Daisy’ found herself in a very scary situation but kept believing that everything would be OK if she just kept trying.”
