The World Health Organization has urged Indonesia to implement a stricter and wider lockdown to combat its COVID-19 crisis. An average 30% of Indonesians who have tested for COVID-19 are infected. The WHO said that indicates a "very high" transmissibility. It has called for urgent action to stop the spread from spiralling out of control. Indonesia has become the latest epicentre of the global pandemic, with daily deaths hitting record highs of over 1,300. Despite this, the government indicated it was considering easing restrictions just days ago.
