The use of artificial intelligence and big data will be key areas of concern for bioethics, both in Singapore and globally. Speaking at a virtual public conference to mark the 20th anniversary of the Bioethics Advisory Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said innovations like AI have allowed early identification of chronic diseases. But, he warned that such new frontiers have to be approached carefully. Mr Heng also stressed the need for bioethics to reflect societal values.
