A tiny home community opened Thursday in North Hollywood. It is the largest of its kind in California.
"This is a moment of great hope for me. I know it doesn’t feel like that when you drive through the city because people say the city looks dirty, people are camped everywhere" said Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, "but this is a moment of complete hope."
There are 103 units at the site in Alexandria Park. The tiny homes are each 64 square feet with two beds, heating and air conditioning, a small desk, and door locks. Bathrooms and showers are in separate trailers.
They cost about $8,000 each.
