Thai PM Prayut faces parliamentary grilling as protests persist

There has been a fierce start to a censure debate against Thailand’s prime minister and five cabinet ministers. The opposition said Prayut Chan-o-cha is "power-crazed", "arrogant" and unsuitable to lead the country. Opponents are also threatening to intensify street protests, as demonstrators show their frustration over the government’s COVID-19 efforts. The debate is scheduled to last four days. Mr Prayut then faces a no-confidence motion.
