Support networks in schools to be strengthened, all teachers to be trained on mental health literacy

In Parliament on July 27, Education Minister Chan Chun Sing revealed other support measures for students, including reducing the number of topics for year-end examinations, bringing back co-curricular activities, as well as providing enhanced training in mental health for all teachers. A day after a 13-year-old was allegedly killed by a fellow student at River Valley High School, a "Caring Actions in Response to an Emergency" post was set up to provide psychological support for students and staff. Moving forward, Mr Chan said the overall ecosystem of support needs to be strengthened.
