Public libraries in Singapore expand digital catalogue as readership rises amid pandemic

Public libraries in Singapore expanded their digital catalogue by about 30% over the past year to reach out to readers during COVID-19. Borrowing of physical books went up by 25% from October 2020 to September 2021. More readers also shifted online, with digital loans growing by 33% to about seven million in the same period.
