After seven months of investigation, a government-backed probe has found one in three people working in Australia’s parliament have experienced some form of sexual harassment. The report was commissioned after a former employee, Ms Brittany Higgins, said she had been raped by a colleague in a minister’s office in March 2019. The revelation triggered more allegations of misconduct in Canberra. The review said across all parliamentary workplaces, 40% of women have been sexually harassed, compared to 26% of men.
