The labour movement is aiming to set up more than 1,000 Company Training Committees by 2022 as it ramps up support of Singapore’s economic transformation. The committees pair unions with employers to identify and address training gaps for workers. About 780 committees have been formed since the initiative was launched about two-and-a-half years ago. NTUC deputy secretary-general Chee Hong Tat gave the update as he launched precision engineering firm Certact’s new factory.
