Chairing a meeting regarding effective implementation of ‘Mukhya Mantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana’, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed to ensure 100 per cent registration in the ambitious scheme which would provide cashless treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh to each family of the state.The CM said that the scheme, which comes into effect from May 01, will not require any fee to be paid to e-Mitra for applying for registration, depositing premium and printing. The state government will bear the fee. While registering at e-Mitra, the beneficiary will only have to pay 850 rupees as the premium amount.The Chief Minister said that the state government will bear Rs 3 thousand 500 crores and people will only have to pay Rs 850 for this welfare initiative.The government would provide this health insurance to about 1 crore 10 lakh families falling under the ambit of National Food Security and Socio Economic Census-2011, as well as 13 lakh small and marginal farmers and families of more than 4 lakh contract workers without any premium. Other families will be able to avail insurance for just Rs 850.
