No Omicron COVID-19 cases in Singapore, but ‘matter of time’ before it arrives: MTF | In full

Singapore has not detected any cases of the new Omicron coronavirus variant locally so far, but with more countries reporting infections, it is a "matter of time" before cases emerge here, the COVID-19 mutli-ministry task force said on Tuesday (Nov 30) during a press conference.

To deal with the new variant, Singapore will enhance its COVID-19 testing protocols for all air arrivals.

Airport and border frontline workers who may come into contact with travellers from regions affected by the Omicron variant will also have to return to a weekly Polymerase Chain Reaction Rostered Routine Testing regime.

This is a recording of the full news conference, including the Q&A session with journalists.
