The Government erroneously overpaid about SS$370 million in Jobs Support Scheme payouts in October last year. The Trade and Industry Ministry said this was due to errors in compiling business reopening dates, as Singapore emerged from the circuit breaker. Authorities said they can recover more than 90 per cent of excess JSS payments. That is by automatically offsetting future JSS payouts and by getting larger firms to return the money. It will work with smaller firms to recover the remainder.
