COVID-19: “Reduce social interactions and activities”, Ong Ye Kung says to Singaporeans

Speaking on ways people can help control the trajectory of daily COVID-19 cases and ICU admissions, Health Minister Ong Ye Kung on Friday (Sep 17) urged the public and the elderly to limit social interactions, stay at home and avoid going out unnecessarily. “Do not congregate in groups and pull down your masks and chit chat for a long time…Because if someone in your group is infected, you are almost certain to be infected too with the Delta virus,” he said, adding that this was how the Bukit Merah and Chinatown Complex clusters got bigger.
