COAST GUARD RESCUES CREW IN DISTRESSED VESSEL

The Philippine Coast Guard responded to a domestic maritime incident involving LCT Metal Hawk that ran aground and eventually listed at the vicinity waters off Barangay Wawa, Nasugbu, Batangas at around 8 a.m., Oct. 12. It encountered engine trouble.

The captain says that the 17-crew vessel departed from the Port of Subic in Zambales on Oct. 9, loaded with 1,000 metric tons of sand bound for Port of Nasugbu in Batangas. It is owned and operated by Surigao Del Sur-based Marine Vest Company.
